I had a long trip into Naples on the morning of the 7th November. My train arrived on the coastal city to be greeted by tremendous rainfall. Funny, I had travelled to Italy, in part, to escape rainy England.
This shot personifies the power of resilience, for me. I had a woeful shoot up until this point, the rain being the main contributor, and I was on the verge of heading back to the station with my tail between my legs.
I chose to prevail, and after the biggest climb of my life to find the vantage point - I saw it. The volcano truly does take your breath away, and I was rewarded for my perseverance with the most stunningly fitting cloud formation above the peak. This is one of my best photos to date.
