This shot was on a my bucket list for a long time. I had never been to Liverpool before and the sole reason I went on the trip there was for this shot. I ended up getting some great photos of the beautiful city, but this was the crowning jewel.
 
I knew I wanted to try and capture the lighthouse on an overcast day and maybe, if I was lucky, I could get some kind of reflection in the water. The reflection being in the wet sand instead worked perfectly and the two birds flying across the lighthouse in opposite directions was a beautiful and symbolic consequence of chance which really adds another element to the image.
 
To date, this is the best photo I have ever shot.
